2014 Orbea ORDU M10 Medium
All of this gear is hung on the impressive Ordu frameset. Ordu, or "time" in Basque, is about shaving time. This bike should take time away from your best bike leg and time trial. The savings can be counted in minutes. Like two minutes off your 40k if you're already able to go 40kph. Or nine minutes off your Ironman bike split. This is because testing has shown that drag can be reduced with the Ordu up to 30 watts of effort at a ten-degree yaw angle. The yaw has to do with the wind angle, ten degrees off of head-on. Head-on is better for wind tunnels, but is rarely what is experienced in real life.
While we're loath to call any bike where you're sweating and groveling much of the time you ride it comfortable, the Ordu is fairly pleasurable. This is thanks to the compliance they designed in. You see it most dramatically in the stays, where the twisting and shape-shifting are done to build in vertical compliance without sacrificing lateral rigidity.
